Hopin is gone. Here is what to use instead.
Hopin has not existed as a product since RingCentral bought it in 2023. What is left is RingCentral Events, sold by a phone-system company. If you are searching for a Hopin alternative, you have two real options: stay on RingCentral Events, or move to a conference app built by people who only do events. This page lays out both.
What happened to Hopin
Hopin raised more than a billion dollars during the pandemic, then sold its core Events and Sessions products to RingCentral on August 2, 2023. RingCentral renamed them RingCentral Events, and hopin.com now just says "Hopin is now RingCentral Events." There is no Hopin company to buy from anymore. We checked the BusinessWire announcement, the RingCentral blog post, and the RingCentral Events pricing page on September 17, 2026.
RingCentral Events is a real product with published pricing. It starts at $99 per organizer per month on the Events Pro plan, includes unlimited events and registrations, and offers a 30-day free trial. If you liked Hopin and your team is small, that may be the cheapest place to land. The catch is that events are one line in a large phone and video company's catalog. Roadmap, support priorities, and the next rename are out of your hands, as Hopin customers have already learned once.
What RingCentral Events has going for it. If your company already buys from RingCentral, keeping events under the same vendor may be simpler for procurement and billing. That is a real advantage. Weigh it.
Where ConferenceTap differs. We are a small company with one product and a founder you can email. Paid plans are quoted per event or per year. What to check before you leave RingCentral Events
Do this with a real agenda and made-up attendee records. It takes an afternoon and it saves a bad year.
- Export your attendee lists, session recordings, and registration data from RingCentral Events now, before your contract ends. Confirm the file formats you get back.
- Ask us to import a sample agenda with at least two tracks. Open it on a phone and check every session, room, and speaker.
- Rehearse a last-minute change: move a talk, swap a speaker, and time how long it takes attendees to see it.
- Run a test live session with a few colleagues. Try Q&A, a poll, and a breakout room.
- Confirm how you get your data out of ConferenceTap. Advanced analytics with data export is included on paid plans.
- Get the total quote in writing: platform, ticketing fees, and anything that costs extra. Ask RingCentral for the same.

Is ConferenceTap cheaper than RingCentral Events?
It depends on how many organizers you have and how many events you run. RingCentral Events charges per organizer per month, from $99 on its base plan. We quote a flat price per event or per year with unlimited organizers, unlimited registrations, branding, and 1:1 onboarding included. A committee of six organizers running one annual conference is the case where the difference is largest. Send us your dates and expected attendance and we will send a number you can put next to theirs.
Does Hopin still exist?
Not as a product you can buy. RingCentral bought Hopin's Events and Sessions product lines on August 2, 2023 and sells them as RingCentral Events. Former Hopin customers deal with RingCentral for contracts, support, and the roadmap. Anyone searching for a Hopin alternative today is really choosing between RingCentral Events and a different platform.
