EventMobi alternative: EventMobi pricing, strengths, and other options

EventMobi is a complete event platform: registration, a branded event app, check-in with badge printing, and virtual events. It also publishes starting prices, which many competitors do not. If you are comparing an EventMobi alternative, the real questions are how the price grows with your event and which add-ons you need. This page covers both.

What EventMobi does well

EventMobi is a Toronto company that Wikipedia describes as privately owned and largely bootstrapped. In August 2023 it bought Run The World, a virtual events platform, to strengthen its online and hybrid formats. That deal was announced the same week Hopin sold its events business to RingCentral.

The product covers the whole event. Attendees get a branded event app on mobile and the web, with agendas, speaker profiles, maps, and personal schedules. Organizers get event websites, registration, and ticket sales through Stripe. On site, any mobile device can be a check-in station, with a self-check-in kiosk mode and badge printing on wireless label printers. For virtual and hybrid events there is live streaming, breakout rooms, and sponsor reporting. G2 reviewers most often praise ease of use; a few cite limited customization.

Pick EventMobi if you print badges on site, want a branded app, or sell many paid tickets. EventMobi says it charges no registration fee on free or paid tickets, so only card processing applies. On ConferenceTap, paid tickets carry 3% plus Stripe processing.

Look further if you want live video included rather than added per event, or a price that stays the same when attendance grows. EventMobi says its prices scale with event size and the products you choose.

What EventMobi costs

EventMobi's pricing page gives starting points. A single event starts at $3,000, and the price rises with event size and the products you choose. The annual plan starts at $8,900 a year and covers unlimited events. Events over 10,000 attendees, or with unusual needs, get custom pricing. Live streaming and video storage are usage-based add-on packs, starting at $500 per event.

Capterra lists the products separately: Event App and Hybrid Event Platform from $1,500, Registration, Website and Ticketing from $1,000, and Check-in and Badge Printing from $1,000. Read those as building blocks. The $3,000 per-event figure on EventMobi's own page is the better guide to a first quote.

Questions to put to EventMobi. What attendance does my quote assume, and what happens if we go over? Which products are in the $3,000 or $8,900 figure? How much streaming do we need to buy? How many organizer logins are included? Is there a nonprofit rate?

How ConferenceTap prices it. One flat price per event, or one price for a year of events, quoted for your calendar. The price does not go up with attendance, organizer seats, or features, and live video is included. Nonprofit discount on request. See how the plans work.

  1. Export registrations, sessions, speakers, and sponsor data from EventMobi while your plan is active. Note the file formats.
  2. Ask us to load a sample agenda with at least two tracks. Open it on a phone and a laptop.
  3. Set up your ticket types on a ConferenceTap registration page, or import your attendee list from a CSV.
  4. Test QR check-in with a few phones. If you depend on printed badges, decide how you will handle them before you switch.
  5. Run a test live session with a few colleagues. Try Q&A, a poll, and a breakout room.
  6. Get both totals in writing: platform, streaming, check-in hardware, and ticket fees on your expected paid sales.

These are evaluation steps, not a promise that every EventMobi export maps cleanly into ConferenceTap. Download the quote comparison worksheet (CSV) to keep both quotes side by side.

Is ConferenceTap cheaper than EventMobi?
